 SquatchTalk Support

Squatchie-Talkie Support

SquatchTalk is a push-to-talk walkie-talkie for families. Press a footprint to talk — your crew hears you on their Apple Watch within seconds. It works on Apple Watch on its own, and there's also a companion iPhone app for parents who want to manage contacts, create groups, and sync them to their kids' watches.

Getting started on Apple Watch

1. Open SquatchTalk and enter your name and phone number when prompted. This is how family members find you.

2. Tap the contacts button (top-right) and choose "Add Friend" or "New Group".

3. When you add someone, they receive a request. They must approve it before either of you can hear the other.

4. Press and hold the footprint to talk. Release to send.

Getting started on iPhone

The iPhone app lets you manage everything from a bigger screen and sync it to your paired Apple Watch automatically.

1. Open SquatchTalk on your iPhone and enter your name and phone number.

2. Tap "Friends" (bottom of the Talk screen) to open your friends list.

3. Tap "Add Friend" — you can type a phone number or pick someone directly from your iPhone Contacts.

4. Tap "New Group" to create a group and choose members from your friends.

5. Friends and groups you add on your iPhone sync to your Apple Watch automatically when the watch is nearby.

Approving requests

When someone adds you, a badge appears on the contacts button and a "Requests" section shows at the top of your Chats list. Tap the green check to approve or the red X to decline. You will not hear anyone until you approve them.

Common questions:

"Does my child need an iPhone?"

No. SquatchTalk runs entirely on Apple Watch — including watches set up with Family Setup — with no iPhone required. The optional iPhone companion app is useful for parents who want to set up friends and groups for their kids and sync them over.

"How fast are messages?"

Audio starts streaming while you talk, so a friend usually hears you within a few seconds of you pressing the button.

"Why can't I hear someone?"

Make sure you have approved their request (Chats → Requests), that you are not muted (the footprint shows a slash when muted), and that both devices have run the app recently.

"Can I add friends from my iPhone contacts?"

Yes. In the iPhone app, tap "Add Friend"→ "Choose from iPhone Contacts" to pick someone directly from your contact list.  The addition requires their permission.

"Does the iPhone app sync to the Apple Watch?"

Yes — one way. Friends and groups you create on your iPhone push to your paired Apple Watch automatically. Changes made on the watch stay on the watch and don't overwrite your iPhone.

"Is my location tracked?"

No. There is no location tracking or map component to this application.

"How do I remove someone?"

Swipe a friend or group left in the Chats list to delete it.

"What is a stomp?"

A silent nudge — two taps on everyone's wrist. No sound, just Sasquatch

Morse code for "hey, I'm thinking of you" or "come here."

VŪSIC support

Vusic-Icon.png

Vūsic Support

Vūsic keeps your sheet music and your recordings together — drop in a score and a performance, pin a few time anchors, and the sheet follows the music. Loop tricky measures, slow them to half speed without losing pitch, mark repeats and codas, tune up, and practice with the built-in metronome. Your songs and all your sync work follow you between Mac, iPad, and iPhone through iCloud.

Need help?

We're glad to hear from you — questions, problems, or ideas for making Vūsic better.

Email: jaybee@formaticsllc.com

When writing about a problem, it helps to include:

• Your device (Mac, iPad, or iPhone) and its OS version

• What you were doing when the problem appeared

• A screenshot, if the problem is visible

Common questions

Why doesn't my song appear on my other device?

Make sure both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account. Songs added on one device appear in the library on the others; a cloud arrow next to a song means its files are still in iCloud — tap the arrow to download it, and the song opens when it's ready.

What file formats does Vūsic support?

Sheet music: PDF, PNG, JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, WebP, and other common images. Recordings: MOV, MP4, and M4V video; MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF, and FLAC audio.

Does Vūsic work with page-turner pedals?

Yes — Bluetooth page-turner pedals (like the AirTurn DUO) work in any keyboard mode to turn pages in the music book and scroll the sheet.
